1. Who We Are
SkillShield operates the website at skillshield.dev. We provide a directory of AI skills and MCP servers with security scanning.
2. What Data We Collect
When you use our site, we collect:
- IP address — anonymized for analytics
- Browser type (user agent) — for debugging
- Pages visited — to understand usage
- Referrer — how you found us
- Country — derived from IP for regional stats
We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not collect names, emails, or other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily submit a skill (feature coming soon).
3. Why We Collect Data
We use this data to:
- Understand how visitors use our site
- Improve performance and fix bugs
- Prevent abuse and security threats
- Generate aggregate usage statistics
4. Data Processors
We use the following sub-processors:
- Cloudflare — Web analytics, CDN, security
- Cloudflare Workers — API hosting
- Cloudflare D1 — Database storage
All data processing occurs under Cloudflare's Data Processing Agreement with EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for 30 days. API logs are retained for 7 days for debugging, then automatically deleted.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing
- Request data portability

7. Opting Out
You can opt out of analytics by:
- Using a browser with "Do Not Track" enabled
- Blocking analytics via ad-blocker or privacy extension
- Disabling JavaScript (site will still function)
8. Security
We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. We use Cloudflare's security infrastructure to prevent unauthorized access.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
